60: "Who's Your Daddy?" - Deck The Halls/Elizabeth Banks/Matthew McConaughey

We here at Saturday Night Jive are celebrating the Christmas season with a month of festive movies featuring SNL cast members.  To start us off we're delving into the Fred Armisen classic known as "Deck The Halls".  Many, many questions are raised during our discussion.  How does Danny Devito make money?  Is Matthew Broderick a good actor?  What is space?  Will Danny Devito have sex with his daughters?  What is the plot of this movie?  Who is your daddy?  All these and more in this week's Saturday Night Jive!

59: "The Lost Episode" - Nothing Lasts Forever/Trainwreck

We didn't have time to record a new episode this week so we are releasing the coveted lost episode of Saturday Night Jive.  We talk about the Tom Schiller film "Nothing Lasts Forever" and the Bill Hader movie "Trainwreck" and then we...honestly I don't remember what we talked about.  We didn't release this because we thought it was lackluster.  So enjoy, or don't, or just wait for next week when we will talk more about season 41 of SNL and probably a movie.  Thanks for listening.

58: "Poli-sick Nation" - Donald Trump/Sia

Not often do we get a future president as funny as Donald Trump.  The man has charisma, stage presence, golden hair, and a suit.  Let history show that on November 7th, 2015 there was an episode of SNL that may go down in history as one of the worst in it's 41 year history.  While we at Saturday Night Jive don't think it's that bad, we did have some gripes but also found a few gems hidden within.  Apologies for the quality of Ben's voice and a few awkward edits to cut out coughs.  Can one horribly executed sketch at the beginning of a show and a blowhard, racist, non-actor host ruin an entire show?  Find out on this week's episode of Saturday Night Jive!

57: "Michael's Magic Juice" - Space Jam

We're finally doing it.  It was a pairing everybody was waiting for, Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny, together at last on the big screen.  We're talking Space Jam, the 1996 classic featuring SNL all star Bill Murray.  For some reason this movie holds a special place in the hearts of a generation.  The two of us at Saturday Night Jive insist that it is a big waste of 87 minutes, almost as long as the podcast you are about to hear.  Are there secret steroid messages within?  Is Daffy Duck a homosexual?  Who doesn't want to fuck Lola Bunny?  What are the rules of this cartoon universe?  Who is watching Michael Jordan's children?  Why spend so much time focusing on Patrick Ewing's sex drive?  These questions and more in this week's Saturday Night Jive.  Also enjoy an inexplicable Barry White jam afterwards.

56: "That's A Lot Of Apples" - In Dreams

Welcome back to Saturday Night Jive, our last spooky movie of Sober October is the 1999 Robert Downey, Jr. classic "In Dreams".  Annette Bening shares the same dreams as a serial killer and there are apples everywhere.  There is also an underwater town, cheating spouses, kids performing Snow White in the woods, talking computers, super dogs, and of course lots and lots of apples.  Was it all a dream?  Was there a hidden transvestite storyline?  How do you dream when you are boning?  Does Robert Downey, Jr. remember making this?  What's with all the apples?  These questions and more on this week's Saturday Night Jive!

55: "The Norbit Effect" - Vampire In Brooklyn/Tracy Morgan

We have two more weeks of Sober October and today we discuss one of Eddie Murphy's most maligned films 'Vampire In Brooklyn'.  It is a horror comedy that is neither funny or scary and it is directed by comedy directing legend Wes Craven.  So, you have Eddie Murphy not being funny and Wes Craven trying to direct comedy...How can it not go right?  We also talk about the uncomfortable season 41 episode of Saturday Night Live hosted by Tracy Morgan.  We kinda run out of things to talk about so we end up talking about the mechanics of zombies and vampires, but enjoy!

54: "Eenie Meenie Miney Mo" - The Martian/Amy Schumer

This week we talk the Amy Schumer hosted episode of Saturday Night Live, get sidetracked into a conversation about gun control and disbanding the electoral college, then we move onto the newest Ridley Scott film, 'The Martian' featuring SNL alum Kristen Wiig.  Ben thinks it is the feel good science movie of the year while George thinks it is 50% total garbage.  Is this movie better than 'Gravity'?  Does the science hold up?  Does anyone smart work at NASA?  Will we stick to our plan and actually do a horror movie next week?  This is a very loud podcast filled with arguing, which will no doubt continue once we get into the Air Buddies films next month.  Enjoy!

53: "Sober October" - The Stuff/Miley Cyrus

It's the season 41 premiere of Saturday Night Live and we are back to discuss a sub par episode hosted by Miley Cyrus.  We also kick off our October spooky film fest with the 1985 horror film "The Stuff" featuring Garrett Morris as a karate chocolate chip guy, or something.  I don't really know, this movie was not good nor was this episode.  You can enjoy us talking about it though.

52: "Hector Elizondo's F**k Island" - Exit To Eden

You know what I like to do with men's butts?  Let me take this ball gag out of my mouth and tell you.  This week we are talking the 1994 Dan Aykroyd & Rosie O'Donnell sex comedy "Exit To Eden".  Who is this movie for?  Why was it directed by Garry Marshall?  How does one make a reservation to a fuck island?  Why don't the people who run the island realize that they let two wanted criminals in as guests?  Does Rosie pull off a leather S&M outfit?  In truth we really just spend an hour discussing the economical logistics of the island.  If you like financial discussions about bondage, Hector Elizondo and diamond smuggling you've come to the right podcast.  Also enjoy the theme song "Slave To Love" after the show.

51: "Just Having A Hitler Meeting" - Under The Rainbow

This week we got a doozy of a film for you.  Saturday Night Jive finally takes on the 1981 Chevy Chase opus "Under The Rainbow", also starring Carrie Fisher, Adam Arkin, Billy Barty, 150 drunk munchkins, Adolph Hitler, and a bus full of J.A.P.S..  On the surface you would think this movie was a biopic about the Wizard Of Oz munchkins but it is much much more.  You have intrigue, spies, Nazis, assassins, dukes, dead dogs, sword fights, sexually assaulting munchkins, bestiality and racism, lots and lots of racism.  Is this movie more offensive to little people or the Japanese?  You be the judge, or more likely, let us be the judge.  We're the ones with a microphone.  Enjoy!

50: "R.I.P. Charles Rocket" - It's Pat: The Movie

A lot of people ask, "What's that?" It's the 50th episode of Saturday Night Jive!  To celebrate we are discussing the movie that ostensibly shut down production on any other SNL movies.  We're talking "It's Pat: The Movie" starring Julia Sweeney, the late great Charles Rocket, Kathy Griffen as herself and the 90s rock band Ween.  Is Pat a man or a woman?  Does it matter?  Did Charles Rocket deserve an Oscar for this?  Will we ever solve his murder?  These questions and more in the 50th episode of Saturday Night Jive.

49: "No. No. No? No." - Homer And Eddie

Belushi is a mentally challenged man, Whoopi is dying of a brain tumor, audiences have their mouths agape at how awful this is.  This week we dissect the Jim Belushi and Whoopi Goldberg Oscar-bait film "Homer And Eddie".  We come up with a theory of whether Jim Belushi was dead or a figment of a crazy woman's imagination and talk about how actors playing mentally challenged is akin to black face.  Jesus, Jon Waters, Ghosts, Gas Station Robberies, and Whore Houses, this movie has it all. Enjoy!

48: "Dumb Ass Horses" - Two Bits And Pepper

Question: What's better than Joe Piscopo?  Answer: Two Joe Piscopos!  Question: What's better than two Joe Piscopos?  Answer: Make one mentally challenged.  We watched "Two Bits And Pepper", a movie about two horses, two girls and two Joe Piscopos.  Many questions are raised about this film: Can horses have sex with ponies?  Actually, we just spend a lot of the podcast confused over the sexuality of horses and ponies.  Eventually we do talk about Two Bits And Pepper, a movie we are sure was made specifically for child rapists.  Enjoy!

47: "Wait. What?" - Southland Tales

Not since 'The Adventures Of Rocky And Bullwinkle' have we seen a movie with so many SNL alumni.  You buy your ticket because of Nora Dunn but wait, let me raise you Cheri Oteri.  Does it get better?  How about Amy Poehler?  Who's that knocking on the door?  Why, it's Jon Lovitz and he brought along Janeane Garofalo.  This week we talk 'Southland Tales' and George takes away Ben's ability to pick movies we watch.  Ben is able to figure out what is happening and explain the plot while George spends most of the episode dumbfounded.  Why is Justin Timberlake singing?  Does Jon Lovitz have uncontrollable charisma? Was Donnie Darko over rated? Is there a better brain trust than Wallace Shawn, Booger and the Poltergeist lady? Why can't pimps commit suicide?  All this and more on this week's Saturday Night Jive.

46: "What Do You Think Of This, Mr. Horse?" - Hot To Trot

The great debate continues!  We have been trying to find a film that George loves as much as Ben loves "Toys".  We stumbled upon it accidentally and it is the 1988 Bobcat Goldthwait vehicle "Hot To Trot" also featuring SNL alums Mary Gross, Tim Kazurinsky and Gilbert Gottfried as "The Dentist".  This podcast features a lot of giggling George and exasperated Ben.  Listen and enjoy our discussion of horse sex, insider trading, Dabney Coleman's sex stable and more.

45: "Clemenza Takes The Cannoli" - Freddy Got Fingered

We finally take on what has been called one of the worst movies of all time.  Freddy Got Fingered is a loving tribute from a son to his father, featuring an award worthy performance from SNL alum Anthony Michael Hall.  The film follows Gort as he learns to become a man, an animator and an animal jerk off enthusiast.  This movie is insanely awful.  We discuss Tom Green's character arc to jerk off bigger animals, the sadness of Rip Torn, why this movie is titled the way it is, and it gets a bit serious as we try to figure out if Tom Green is seriously mentally challenged.

44: "President Shaq" - Pixels

This week we talk the latest Adam Sandler film Pixels.  This is our first installment of the podcast which features a movie in theaters now, although probably not in theaters for very long.  This movie has definitely been unfairly maligned by critics but it still has some problems.  We discuss how this movie could have been better with Jesse Eisenberg, Jackie Earl Haley, Shaq and David Wain directing, how do you use cheat codes in real life situations and why Sandler looks so bored when he is blasting aliens.  Did Jack And Jill kill his spirit or was he always terrible?  We discuss, you decide.

43: "She's A God Damn Robot" - Toys

We get into the great debate over whether Toys is an act of whimsy with levels of artistic merit, or a huge piece of shit.  Ben is on the former, George is on the latter.  We may not solve this conundrum but we do solve the conspiracy of 9/11.  Enjoy this discussion, featuring SNL alum Joan Cusack, spoiler alert, she's a god damn robot.

42: "That's A Dick Nose" - Nothing But Trouble

This week we wrap our minds around Dan Aykroyd's directorial debut and coincidentally the last time anyone let him near a camera.  It's Nothing But Trouble, a bizarre dystopian fable with Chevy Chase quips, female John Candy, Inbred poop monster brothers, Brazilian lovers or, are they siblings, and of course a dick nose.  We discuss that dick nose at length, where other dicks might be and more with special guests Bryan (George's roommate) and Morgan (the homeless guy sleeping on George's couch).

41: "Vagina Monsters From Venus" - Martians Go Home

In this episode of Saturday Night Jive, Randy Quaid makes his 4th appearance as we discuss "Martians Go Home".  This is a movie that George was obsessed with as a young comedy nerd because of the abundance of bad stand-ups from the '80s.  This film is loaded with plot holes, bad jokes, horrible visual effects, green gardening gloves, Barry Sobel and cheesy love ballads.  Stay past the end credits for vagina monsters from Venus.

40: "Sugar Cubes And Cat Shit" - Modern Problems

Modern Problems is the story of a down on his luck guy who through the magic of toxic waste and an open sunroof develops telekinetic powers.  How to use these powers?  Good?  Evil?  Cleaning cat shit off a bar of soap and stacking sugar cubes?  Spoiler alert, it's the third option.  We try to wrap our mere mortal brains around this film with the help of George's roommate Bryan, who I don't believe we ever introduce, who wants a professionally made podcast?  Chevy Chase makes his third appearance on Saturday Night Jive but definitely not his last, I mean, we haven't even mentioned "Under The Rainbow" yet.

39: "Bit Of A Chubby Chaser" - The Crazysitter"

This week Saturday Night Jive pops in another VHS found at the Goodwill.  "The Crazysitter" starring Beverly D'Angelo, Ed Begley Jr., Carol Kane, two very annoying children and, in a cameo appearance that deserves 4th billing, SNL alum Phil Hartman.  This is the only Phil Hartman movie that doesn't have a Wikipedia page and also the only one, to our knowledge, that involves selling children on the black market.  Odds are you will never see this gem, but you can listen to us discuss it.  The Crazysitter, she'll steal your heart, right after she sells your kids!

38: "More Farts, Asshole" - Three Fugitives, Joe Dirt 2 & A Man Called Sarge

We're Back! I'm not talking about the 1993 cartoon movie subtitled A Dinosaur's Story, although Martin Short is in that, speaking of Martin Short, we watched a movie starring him.  This week Saturday Night Jive returns after a lengthy hiatus to discuss not one, not two but three SNL related movies, we also talk about the actual show very briefly.  We tackle the new Crackle original picture Joe Dirt 2 then we talk about the first 10 minutes of A Man Called Sarge (A very obscure movie starring Gary Kroeger and a pre-op Bruce Jenner which is currently on Netflix) before leaping into one of George's favorites from childhood, Three Fugitives starring Martin Short and Nick Nolte.  Will it hold up?  We also promise to be more diligent about podcasting regularly.  Will that hold up?  Stay tuned to the end for a compilation of Nick Nolte saying "asshole".  Enjoy!

37: "Ronny Cox's Shoes" - Loose Cannons

The Saturday Night Jive podcast is back, and once again we're...not actually talking about the show. We're pretty much onto movies full time now, because this show and our podcast kinda sucks. So this week we watched a movie featuring an SNL alum that really sucks called Loose Cannons. Prepare yourselves for the movie that Dan Aykroyd thinks is his worst movie. Seriously. It's a movie so bad that its accidental discovery actually led to a murder investigation. Enjoy.
