236: "An All-Out Wank-A-Thon" - SNL S16E18 - Steven Seagal / Michael Bolton

This week on Saturday Night Jive we talk about a notoriously bad episode of SNL hosted by Steven Seagal with musical guest Michael Bolton.  While Seagal is completely terrible, at least George found some stuff to like about this episode.  We get some blackface or course, because it wouldn't be an episode of our podcast without that coming up at least once.  Seriously SNL, way too much blackface.  I swear we're not intentionally picking episodes with blackface.  It's just if you throw a dart at a board with a lot of blackface on it, you're gonna land on blackface a lot.  This episode has some Hans & Franz, some Richmeister, some Steven Seagal singing Kung Fu Fighting, some Michael Bolton in very high pants, a laughably bad Andrew Dice Clay impression, and we end with a bunch of people bitch slapping the host.  Enjoy!

235: "Which One Do I Shoot?" - Big Business (1998)

Dear Mary Gross, we're sorry.  Next time we pull your name we will finally watch Feds.  I don't know why we didn't do it this time.  Maybe I'm afraid I won't love it as much as I should.  I really want to enjoy Feds but I've been hurt by movies in the past and I'm not quite sure if I'm ready to put my heart back on the line.  So instead we watched some piece of crap that you have two scenes in.

Big Business from 1988 stars Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin as two sets of twins, born at the same hospital and separated at birth.  So one Bette grew up with one Lily and vice versa.  This Prince And The Pauper-esque tale sees all 4 in New York City (The Plaza Hotel specifically.  Which is so important to the plot that they justified building an expensive set of the hotel instead of shooting in another hotel).  What do you think will happen when these twins meet each other?  Well, you have to wait until about 10 minutes before the movie is over.  That's right, this movie is just a series of "Hey, I'm gonna talk to you as if you were the other person who looks like you and then confusion will set in".  It sucks.  A shorter podcast this week since we have so little to talk about but we pack as much as we can into 45 minutes.  Enjoy!

234: "To Entice Guttenberg" - Short Circuit 2 (1988)

This week we're talking Michael McKean and his performance in Short Circuit 2 from 1988.  A jive talking robot, a white man in brownface, and a fast-talking street tough are just trying to run an honest robot sweatshop when diamond sugglers ruin their plans.  I guess that proves the old adage, don't rent the abandoned warehouse directly across the street from the biggest bank in the city.  Join us as we talk about Johnny 5 and his quest for respect in a world against him.  Plus we get honest-to-God tears from watching a robot get Jesus beat.
