272: "Kick And They Slap A Friend" - SNL S17E08 - Hammer

It's the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, the Lebanese hostages were just released, and rap superstar Hammer hosted Saturday Night Live.  We travel back to 1991, a year when we couldn't stop kicking and slapping our friends, to watch another old-ass episode of SNL.  Sketches include a George Bush Cold Open, Bad Haircut Support Group, Pearl Harbor Headlines, Queen Shenequa on Weekend Update, Tales From The Barbeque, Johnny Letter, Remembrances Of Love with Wilt Chamberlain, Dick Clark's Receptionist, and 3 songs by Hammer.  Special thanks to our sponsor Wilson Chainsaws for bringing their fine product to this episode.  Never forget those Lebanese hostages who were 2 legit 2 quit.  And a shout out to Julia Sweeney's boobies (take that search engine optimization, now if anyone ever does a Google search for Julia Sweeney's boobies they will land on this podcast).  Enjoy!

271: "You Didn't Tell Me It Was A Magic Typewriter" - Delirious (1991)

Poor Charles Rocket, gone too soon.  We watched Delirious from 1991 and, once again, he is the best part of a bad movie we watched.  This movie stars John Candy as a soap opera writer who gets sucked into his own show.  He discovers (almost immediately) that he can control the universe with his magic typewriter.  Lucky for him there exists a magic typewriter repairman in this fictional universe in case he wants to break it for no discernable reason.  This movie has a good concept but does little with it.  We pitch a better movie with the same concept, come closer to solving Charles Rocket's murder, and discover that George is pro Hitler.  Enjoy!

270: "I Gotta Draw My Own Titties Now" - Space Jam 2 A New Legacy (2021)

Apologies to anyone who really wanted a thoughtful and in-depth analysis of The Adventures Of Pluto Nash, but we turned that the fuck off after 20 minutes because we were so bored.  As luck would have it, we happened to see a movie this week with another SNL alum.  Sarah Silverman shows up in Space Jam 2: A New Legacy so we talked about that instead.  We covered the original Space Jam years ago (thanks to Mr. Bill Murray showing up for a cameo in that) so it seems only fitting that we discuss this sequel that somehow manages to be a worse movie.  You didn't think it was possible did you?  Surely you can't out-suck Space Jam!  But they did by casting a basketball player who is even worse at acting, coming up with a plot that is nigh-incomprehensible, shitty-ing up the animation, and basically just making this a 2 hour commercial for Warner Bros.  You know how kids love The Matrix, Mad Max: Fury Road, Casablanca, and A Clockwork Orange?  Let's make sure to pack the movie with references that kids won't understand and adults couldn't give a shit about.  Unless you're one of those people who just loves references, OK, hope you like watching a guy in a Pennywise costume.  We break this movie down far more than it deserves and ask the age old question, Where is a dude supposed to see a nice pair of cartoon titties anymore?

269: "Hey All You Fart Hounds" - Good Boy (2003)

Hey, all you fart fanatics.  You ready for some tasty ass blasters?  SNL alums Molly Shannon and Kevin Nealon both appear in Good Boy! from 2003.  Why do they keep making these shitty talking dog movies and why do they keep casting former SNL cast members?  It's gotta be a conspiracy to get us to watch them.  Featuring a lifeless voice performance from Matthew Broderick and an award nominated fart from the legendary Carl Reiner (as a dog).  This movie really sucks but we have some fun talking about it.  We update the IMDB trivia section, Mr. Skids makes his return to give you the fart lowdown, we plead for respect for Ernest P. Worrell, and wonder if you could still take a shit if you knew your dog understood what was going on.  Enjoy!
