183: "I Must Study You" - Pure Luck (1991)

Martin Short was the SNL alum we picked this week so we watched Pure Luck from 1991.  It stars Martin as the unluckiest man in the world, sent to find the unluckiest woman in the world.  He's partnered with Danny Glover and he falls down a lot.  It's not that great, but it's watchable.  Do bee stings really turn you into a big fat guy?  Will two unlucky people coming together cause the world to end?  Do Mexican police officers just rape you without a trial?  These questions and more are explored in this week's episode.  Enjoy!

182: "Specifically For Melanie Hutsell" - Grown Ups 2 (2013)

Why are we watching Grown Ups 2?  Is it because it stars SNL alums Adam Sandler, David Spade and Chris Rock?  Is it because Maya Rudolph and Tim Meadows have supporting roles?  Is it because it features cameos from Cheri Oteri, Andy Samberg, Jon Lovitz, Colin Quinn, Will Forte, Taran Killam, Bobby Moynihan, Ellen Cleghorne and Paul Brittan?  No.  We watched it because SNL great Melanie Hutsell shows up in the background of two scenes.  Why?  Because you're listening to the podcast with the single greatest premise.  We pulled Melanie Hutsell's name off of our SNL cast member spreadsheet so we watched a movie with no plot, no character arcs, no story and no conflict and a little too much Nick Swardson.  4 guys dick around for a day, mostly at Kmart.  That's a movie.  It's a film where nothing happens and also everything happens.  One podcast may not be enough, so join us next week when we cover Grown Ups 2 as we continue to live in this time loop.  Let out a burp-sneeze-fart and Enjoy!

181: "Somebody Once Told Me" - Mystery Men (1999)

We've had a run of really bad movies so we're taking a much needed break and watching something of substance.  Mystery Men is a superhero movie that parodies the feel of the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher Batman movies and has a look that can only be called "Kinka Usher-esque".  We get POV shots aplenty in this as the camera is in the fridge, in your face, in a bag, up your nose, in your butt, or wherever they felt like putting it that second.  Starring SNL alums Ben Stiller and Janeane Garofalo as well as two guys who auditioned but didn't make the cast, Paul Reubens and Kel Mitchell, as well as Geoffrey Rush, Greg Kinnear, William H. Macy, Wes Studi, Eddie Izzard, Pras and Hank Azaria.  It's a decent flick with some slight problems.  Enjoy!
