302: "Track Of Thought" - Death Wish (1974)

Welcome back to Saturday Night Jive.  This week we're talking Death Wish from 1974 starring Charles Bronson and a young Christopher Guest (who was a cast member on SNL, look it up).  This is a different type of movie than we normally cover, we usually don't deal with as many graphic rape scenes.  So, this isn't the usual comedy cavalcade we routinely bring you, instead it's a dissection of a film that spawned violent sequels and real acts of violence.  Should it still be watched in modern society?  How do different people interpret the message?  These questions and more on this week's episode.  But don't worry, next week we'll be watching a Jay Leno / Pat Morita action comedy so we're not retooling the podcast.  Enjoy!

301: "The Old Fake Beard In The Garbage Trick" - A Billion For Boris (1984)

Why did we watch A Billion For Boris?  Because we're dumb?  Well, yeah.  Because SNL alum Tim Kazurinsky is in it?  I guess.  Because George thought it was about a monkey who wins the lottery?  Perhaps.  Or is it just because this is Saturday Night Jive the podcast where we talk about random and obscure movies featuring cast members of Saturday Night Live and sometimes we land on a film nobody has ever heard of, will ever hear of, will ever watch, or will have any interest in whatsoever.  Seth Green makes his feature film debut in this movie where he plays a precocious young kid who accidentally creates a TV that can see into the future.  What do a group of young kids do with a prescient television?  You better believe they bet on the ponies.  This is a stupid movie, but this is a stupid podcast, so enjoy!

300: "Pisco-pullin" - Wise Guys (1986)

It's our 300th episode!  And we're celebrating by doing this act of stupidity in person for the first time since 2020.  We watched Brian De Palma's 1986 "comedy" Wise Guys starring SNL alum Joe Piscopo and 5-timers club member Danny DeVito as well as the feature film debut of Captain Lou Albano and his giant underpants.  It was a piece of shit so we spend most of the episode talking about other crappy movies we've seen like Jurassic World: Dominion, Lightyear, and Elvis (featuring frequent SNL host Tom Hanks in a performance for the ages).  At least we finally answer the question, what exactly was Danny DeVito doing to that hotdog?

299: "Who Wants To Suck This Thing?" - My Five Wives (2000)

Get ready for some Rodney Dangerfield impressions because we watched My Five Wives a Rodney comedy from 2000 featuring SNL alum Molly Shannon.  It's fine.  What more did you expect from one of the last movies starring a comedy legend?  Rodney plays a very old man who buys land in a Utah town that comes with 3 wives.  Then he gets married to 2 more ladies.  If you're counting along at home, that makes 5 wives this guy has to have sex with constantly.  Andrew Dice Clay plays a mobster (because of course this movie has a mafia subplot, every movie does) John Pinette plays a guy who gets cameras shoved up his butt.  You know what?  Don't think too much about the plot of this movie it's mostly just Rodney one-liners and half of them are decently funny.  Hear us break it down on the last episode of our second hundred.  Enjoy!
