202: "The Bus To Magic Ninja Island" - Beverly Hills Ninja (1997)

We're watching Beverly Hills Ninja starring SNL alums Chris Farley and Chris Rock.  A young baby washes up on the shores of a magical ninja island and defies the laws of nature vs. nurture by growing up to be a big fat guy.  The last film released during Chris Farley's lifetime is also Christian Bale's favorite movie, for some reason.  We question the mechanics of magic ninja island, Dennis Dugan's directing prowess and the real mystery of this movie, what's the deal with that racist hotel manager and how does he play into all of this.  Enjoy!

201: "Chekhov's Magic Sex Bee" - Leonard Part 6 (1987)

So, you know how we watch movies featuring Saturday Night Live cast members?  Well, we didn't do that this week.  In honor of our 201st episode, Ben picked the movie and he could pick whatever he wanted so we watched Leonard Part 6 starring the world's most prolific rapist Bill Cosby who has never even hosted SNL.  Wait a minute, was Joe Don Bakker part of the season 6 cast?  Let me check.  No.  Sadly, Joe Don Bakker has never gotten the call from Lorne.  Ah well, it's our bicentennial so we can do whatever the hell we watched.  With all that freedom, what did we do?  We watched Bill Cosby throw magic hotdogs at shirtless henchmen.  We make good decisions.  Enjoy!

200: "Mad About You Aliens" - Season 20 Episode 15 - Paul Reiser/Annie Lennox

 

It's the 200th episode of Saturday Night Jive so we're going back to our roots and talking about an episode of SNL from the famed and disastrous season 20.  Paul Reiser hosts with musical guest Annie Lennox.  We get homophobic sketches, racist sketches, sexist sketches, sketches involving rape, sodomy and superheros, a sketch stolen by Jay Mohr from another comedian, a piss poor Jeff Foxworthy impression, Chris Farley in a fez, and quite possibly the dumbest sketch SNL has ever aired (hint: it involves an alien).  Hang with us as we relive George's pick for Worst Episode Ever.  Enjoy!

199: "You Go In The Allen Covert Pile" - Zookeeper (2011)

We're talking Zookeeper starring Kevin James, Rosario Dawson, Joe Rogan, Leslie Bibb and SNL alums Maya Rudolph, Adam Sandler and Jim Breuer as talking animals that don't really factor into the plot as much as you'd think they would.  This film is about a lonely zookeeper trying to get his ex-girlfriend back.  Oh, and he also learns that animals can speak and have been able to do so from the beginning of time, but that doesn't phase him as he's got other stuff to deal with.  Fatty falls down a lot in a film that is not as bad as it seems but mostly because of Sandler as a talking monkey.  How can Rosario Dawson resist a man as sexually dynamic as Kevin James?  Is Joe Rogan an actor?  Should animals lust over our human women?  Will George's outdated views get him banned from SNL in the future?  All these questions and more in this week's episode of Saturday Night Jive.  Enjoy!
